‘Just Good Friends’ seems a good title for this article, in more ways than one, as friends and residents enjoyed the company of the popular local group.
On a bright and sunny Halloween morning, Links View residents were joined by Lynn and Bev from Just Good Friends. They’re the local friendship group who provide friendship, interests and things to do for people all over the Fylde Coast.
Song sheets handed out and everyone comfortably in their chairs the sing-a-long began. Well what an entertaining morning that was! A good old ‘technical hitch’ with the music provided money-can’t-buy comedy moments, with everyone enjoying a really good laugh.
Some of the singing was OK but let’s just say we’d never form a choir that anyone would pay to see. But goodness me was it good fun! A few people couldn’t resist the music and were up to dance too.
Just Good Friends at Links View
This sort of gathering and morning of fun is the kind of thing that you can regularly expect when you move to Links View Independent Living. It’s not a care home – it’s your home, where you’re comfortable and safe and can spend your time with company when you want to.
A number of non-residents came along to enjoy the event with their friends. More than once, the people who are residents were trying to persuade their friends to move in too!
The one message that comes across loud and clear is that Links View is a happy place. According to the residents, the staff are kind, friendly and helpful and can’t do enough for everyone. The place itself is ideal when you get to a certain time of life – it’s safe and people feel looked after but live independently.
One resident said “I moved here 15 months ago from Carlton near Poulton. It’s the best thing that I’ve ever done. I feel really safe here.”
More Singalongs
Before one event was over, these good friends were already planning their next get togethers. With several birthdays coming up in the next few days and a film screening planned in the cinema room.
Many thanks to Lynn and Just Good Friends for organising today. They’re also coming back too, with the intention of making this a monthly event. If today is anything to go by it will be very popular!
Take a look at the photos…
Lots of photographs were taken on the day, this is just a selection of them. You can look at them all on the ICare Links View Facebook page.
Do you know someone who would enjoy life at Links View? It’s got to be one of the best retirement communities here on the Fylde Coast, where you’re safe but independent.
