This lovely pre-school group first visited our care home with a difference, back in autumn 2019. Since then we’ve had Boogie Beats toddlers back at Links View several more times.
They all troop into the conservatory, with boxes of musical instruments and things to bring their songs to life. One by one their colourful contents are emptied, handed out around the room for everyone to share.
The toddlers love doing their musical activities, helped by our residents. Everyone joins in with percussion and singing. The Boogie Beats leader gets a thorough work-out too – leading the songs and children in movement!
All in all they’re lovely, cheerful sessions with young and old enjoying each others company. It’s good for toddlers to mix with older people. And it’s funny how you never forget the words to ‘Wheels on the Bus’! Take a look at some highlights from the session in this video clip –
This is far from being a traditional care home at the best of times. A ‘home with care’ would be a better way to put it. But with Boogie Beats toddlers back at Links View it’s even livelier than usual!
To finish the session off, the toddlers all enjoyed a glass of juice after their workout and exercise. By now it was 3pm, so not long until afternoon tea is served in the dining room for the residents.
Do you know someone who would enjoy life at Links View? It’s got to be one of the best retirement communities here on the Fylde Coast, where you’re safe but independent.
